Chiropractic care (or orthopedic manipulation), a non-invasive alternative treatment, focuses on the role of the spinal column in biomechanics and movement and the close relationship between the spinal column and the nervous system. At Family Pet Animal Hospital, we provide chiropractic care for pets to treat many conditions, including:
During chiropractic treatments, your pet will receive gentle adjustments to spinal and limb joints, helping to restore normal neural signaling, mobility, and function. The adjustment applies precise force to specific areas of the spine, increasing your pet’s mobility by restoring joint and soft tissue functionality, relieving musculoskeletal pain, and improving overall joint health.
On average, pets show a positive response in about a week after the initial adjustment. New injuries are often successfully treated and healed after three to four adjustments. Depending upon the severity of the injury, your pet may require additional sessions of treatment before the injury has completely healed.
Dr. Sig Hansen, D.C., owner of All Creatures Chiropractic, has provided chiropractic care for animals since 1994. He is available at Family Pet for chiropractic care by appointment on Thursdays. Chiropractic care may only be administered after we have made a diagnosis of your pet's condition. Our veterinarians will perform a comprehensive evaluation that includes a thorough physical examination followed by a patient assessment and formulation of a treatment plan. Once a plan for chiropractic care has been outlined by our veterinarians, chiropractic appointments can be scheduled directly through All Creatures Chiropractic by calling 847-551-1279.
