We know you want the very best medical care for your pet. When your pet is ill or needs care for a chronic medical condition, Family Pet Animal Hospital has the expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat your pet. Whether it’s a routine checkup, treatment of a chronic disease, or an emergency, we are here to care for your pet quickly and efficiently.
We have an emergency doctor available during the majority of our open hours so that if your pet needs immediate attention, and our normal appointment schedule is full, we will be able to take care of you and your pet. Our goal is to have this veterinarian available to answer medical questions, as well as receive patients that are acutely ill. Other less urgent medical problems will be given appointments to suit your convenience as much as possible.
Our veterinarians are committed to diagnosing, treating, and monitoring your pet’s condition, and we strive to improve your dog’s or cat’s quality of life. By using advanced screening procedures and tools, we can treat the most commonly diagnosed medical problems such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, thyroid disease, and more.
If your pet has been diagnosed with a chronic condition (for example diabetes or hypothyroidism) we will perform all routine monitoring that is needed to keep your pet healthy. Depending upon your pet’s condition, we will monitor your pet’s medications and treatment options and diet and nutrition requirements. We may refer your pet to the appropriate specialty service if his or her condition changes or your pet is not responding appropriately to the treatments.
If your pet requires a specialist, we work closely and consult with the specialists at Chicago Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Care Center. When we refer patients to specialists, we stay a part of your pet’s medical care throughout the referral process.
It is common to assume these signs are a normal part of your dog or cat's aging process; however, they may indicate underlying disease. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, please give us a call and have your pet evaluated:
